Jewish Communities Say No To Bikini's

Hasidic Jewish Communities in Brooklyn got upset about bus with girls dressed in bikinis driving around their neighborhoods.Georgi Vodka company designed a very sexy ad campaign that was accepted to be advertised on New York's MTA bus system. Jewish residents contacted the MTA and told them to stop driving these buses in their area and MTA DID. They told the press theses ads are too much for the respectable Jewish communities, but perfect for the taxi system in New York.

Now Bikini Models are saying "Butt Out" MTA. So in protest Dozens of bikini clad women walked the streets of New York protesting. Some even showed their backside to buses driving by.

Georgi Vodka

I understand why some people wouldn't want to see women in bikini's. The Georgi Vodka company said they had no warning. They were just told the ads were off those bus. CBS marketing runs the ads on the MTA system, Clear Channel runs the Taxi business. Now the Georgi Vodka ads will run on the taxi's and not the buses in some areas. The bikini models are telling MTA to 'Butt Out" and we agree. But you got to love all the free press and the way they show it.

Salted Potatoes

Here’s a little recipe I got out of Food Network magazine. It’s easy, quick and cheap.

8lbs Small Potatoes
2 ¼ cups kosher salt
1 Stick unsalted butter

Boil the potatoes whole with salt in a large pot. Once the potatoes are soft, remove from water and let cool. They may turn a white color, but that’s just the salt. Melt the butter for a dipping sauce. I also used mustard and Franks Red Hot Sauce for our dips. Like I said it’s simple and quick.

Spicy Nor Cal Burger

After a few weeks of research we came up with a chicken burger with flavors of both Northern California and India. If you’re a fan of spicy, this is the recipe for you. It’s not fire hot but it does have a kick to it. You can add hotter peppers for a spicier taste.

Do us a favor and make on for yourself and let us know what you liked or didn’t like. Add some flair of your own and send us a pic and we’ll post it on this blog and twitter. Enjoy!

Onion Chutney

1 cp Red Onions (finely Chopped)
¼ cp Cilantro
½ cp Tomato Paste
1 Teaspoon Paprika
½ Teaspoon Cumin Powder
½ Teaspoon Oil
¼ Teaspoon Sugar
Salt to Taste

Chicken

1 lbs Ground Chicken
1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
2 Finely Chopped Serrano
2 Teaspoon Curry Powder
½ Teaspoon Garam Masala
½ cp Sierra Nevada Torpedo
2 Slices White Bread
¼ cp Olive Oil
4 Slices Sandwich Thins Multi-Grain
Salt to Taste

Toppings

Mendocino Sweet & Spicy Mustard
6 Sweet Peppers
1 Cucumber
1 Avocado

To Make:

Chutney – Chop onions and cilantro. Heat oil in pot for a few seconds. Add tomato paste and dry ingredients. Let sauce simmer for a few minutes and then let it cool. Mix sauce with onions and cilantro. Set in refrigerator.

Chicken – Place white bread in a bowl with the Torpedo beer and set aside. Mix remaining ingredients. Knead the mixture like dough adding the bread as you go. Form into a large ball and divide 4 portions. Roll each portion and make it into a ball.

Heat frying pan with olive oil (California Olive Ranch Arbosana). Place chicken balls on the pan and press down with spatula forming patties. Let each side cook for 2-3 minutes.

Assemble each burger with toppings and Onion Chutney. We served ours with steam carrots and sweet peppers seasoned with Garam Masala.

Statues Report

Good day to all our readers. We have been doing more research into why Sacramento County has flat out made it illegal for people like me to operate a mobile kitchen. I heard about it before but didn’t believe that the 7th largest city in the great state of California would be so narrowed minded. The hard working people that operate these trucks today are saying that one day they were told Sacramento City Council decided to end the “Taco Truck”. They didn’t even know that the city council was voting on such an issue. The council told reporters and bloggers they notified several truck operators with business licenses. We have not found any operators that were notified and we have been looking.

Basically Sacramento City Councils has voted in to affect a 30 minute limit rule. Anyone serving food out of a state approved mobile kitchen can only operate in one location for 30 minutes. Now if you’re selling prepackaged food that doesn’t require heat then you’re golden, but if you’re like us who wants to make food to order, then you’re screwed. You be hard to find someone that can drive into a location, set up, heat up and make food to order in any type of truck in 30 minutes. A taco truck, maybe with meat that is already cooked. The tear down and set up only leave you with about 15 minutes of cook time.

So what does that mean for Bikini Burgers Mobile Kitchen? Well we can’t do our week day lunch program, but our main focus was going to be on events, fairs, and catering anyways. So we are still going forward with the opening date of the next Super Bowl (2011). It would be cool if it was the Raiders & Niners, but the chances of that happening are slim. Everyone will be able to find us at every major fair in Northern California in 2011.

Thanks for reading and come back for more about our company and our progress.

Good Day Sacramento Spot

It was a fun day so far. My day job is Parker’s Hot Dogs in East Roseville and today we got to take on Mark S. Allen in the 5lb Chili Dog contest. The Good Day crew showed up around 6am and we got the eating on by 8am. It was a little early to be eating that much chili but it was worth it. I got to watch one of our owners (Eric Owen) just get killed by Mr. Sacramento himself. Little did we know Mark has been in the Genius Book of Records for other food related contest. Check out the footage a http://www.gooddaysacramento.com/ or click the link below.

Social Media Now Live.

Happy Tuesday world. Hope everyone had a good weekend. We spent it working on our twitter, facebook and other social media website. We are on the ground floor of getting our company out of the garage and onto the streets of Nor Cal. Today I got an email from Kickstarter.com. KS is a website that helps people to get funding for their dreams. I submitted the Bikini Burger concept to them last week and they need more information in order to make a decision if they are going to put us on their site. It would be a good site to be on. It gets lots of hits and can help us get the needed funding to get us up and going.

So right now we have our social media sites up and going. We have 35 twitter followers and 12 facebook friends. Not bad start. We hope to be in the hundreds in a few short weeks. My wife and I have already started working on our videos for YouTube and will have those up soon. You will be able to follow us on our journey incoming a real deal mobile kitchen. It’s going to be a fun ride and hope you stay with us on it.
